Mar 7, 2006, 17:42
Opera Pacific is currently seeking men to fill non-speaking roles in the upcoming season opening production of Aida to be performed at the Orange County Performing Arts Center April 18 – 23, 2006. The production requires forty, non-Caucasian men of any age. Successful candidates will be required to attend all assigned evening and weekend rehearsals beginning March 28 and the performance dates of April 18, 20, 21, 22 & 23. The company offers a small stipend for rehearsals and performances, as well as complimentary tickets to the production. Supernumeraries do not need formal operatic training or stage experience, supers add an indispensable flavor to the scenes in which they appear by the costumes they wear, the props they manipulate, and the pantomimic gestures they use to create incidental characters. Interested individuals should contact Jennifer Cook, production stage manager, at jcook@operapacific.org.
