DEA Agents Sue Universal Over "American Gangster"

Three former special agents of the U.S. Drug
Enforcement Administration filed a $50 million lawsuit against NBC
Universal Inc. over the Denzel Washington-Russell Crowe film "American
Gangster." The film tells the story real-life drug kingpin Frank Lucas who built up a heroin empire in
Harlem in the early 1970s. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Manhattan, alleges that the movie
falsely claims that three-quarters of "New York City's Drug Enforcement Agency,"
from 1973 to 1985, were convicted of a crime. The lawsuit, which is seeking class-action status on behalf of 400 present and
former DEA agents in New York.

A Los Angeles federal judge has ruled that Frank
Davis' "weak organization and communication skills" got him fired by
Universal Pictures as first assistant director of "2 Fast 2 Furious,"
not his African-American race. The ruling was dated July 11 but made public last Thursday in the case (EEOC v. Universal Pictures, 03cv7023.) filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. (EEOC).

'The Bible Experience' released this past fall exists
as the #1 selling audio Bible in history, selling a quarter of a
million copies in only a few months. Mega-celebrities that leant their
voices for the audio Bible's characters include Denzel Washington, Samuel Jackson, Blaire Underwood, Angela Bassett, Cuba
Gooding, Jr. and Star Jones-Remolds, to name a few. The producers of the audio bible are now facing a lawsuit from Paula Neiman, a woman who says she wrote the script for the star-studded audio version and claims
she was cheated out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in payment.

Eric Amdursky & Catherine B. Hagen, partners in
O'Melveny & Myers LLP have represented the Screen Actors Guild for
the past several years in discrimination lawsuits against SAG. Amdursky
represents SAG in a series of wrongful termination/discrimination
cases. SAG has settled all of the wrongful
termination and racial discrimination cases by its minority employees.
Three of which where settled in recent months except one. SAG's
officials on its website have vowed to fight allegations that it says
are baseless against, Dr. Patricia Heisser Metoyer, former affirmative
action director.
Beyonce Wins Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

On September 21, 2006 a United States District Court
in Houston dismissed a copyright infringement case brought against
Beyoncé and the co-authors of the Grammy® Award-winning, number one hit
song “Baby Boy.” Judge Nancy Atlas ruled that Beyoncé and the other
defendants named in case did not infringe the copyright in plaintiff's
song.
