"American Gangster,"
with North American box office earnings of
$129.8 million, sold an estimated 4 million units during its
first week in stores. For the week ending Feb. 24, the Universal
Studios Home Entertainment release topped both the latest DVD sales and rental charts.

Tyler Perry's latest Lionsgate DVD release "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get
Married?," debuted at number one on the North American DVD charts this
past week with over two million units already sold. The accompanying
DVD release of his stage play "What's Done in the Dark" also
debuted in the top 10.

Tyler Perry Productions and Exodus Film
Group have inked a deal to co-produce a series of animated DVDs
inspired by Tyler Perry's signature character, "Madea." Opinionated and
brash, yet loving, Perry's Madea's has charmed audiences from stage to
screen, in such hits as, "Madea's Family Reunion," "Diary of a Mad Black
Woman," and the upcoming "Meet the Browns." The yet untitled project will follow "Madea" on her adventurous and comedic
trials and tribulations, teaching children about family values, in a way
that only Madea could.

Inspired by a true story, "American Gangster," the grippingly intense
crime-thriller acclaimed by critics and audiences as one of the best
films of 2007, will be available February 19 in two versions on the
exclusive "American Gangster" 2-Disc Unrated Extended Edition DVD that
includes both an unrated, extended movie with over 18 additional
minutes and an alternate ending plus the original theatrical film.
