Wayans is headed back to the alphabet network as he is set to star in
"Never Better," a comedy pilot for ABC. The single-camera vehicle had
been given a cast-contingency order from ABC. Wayans' signing
lifts the cast contingency on the project.
"Never Better" is based on a BBC2 series about a recovering
alcoholic who tries to be a good father and husband, not always
successfully. Wayans will exec produce the pilot with writer Dave
Walpert, Warren Littlefield and John Heyman. Marc Buckland ("My Name is Earl," "Scrubs") is on board to direct.
