Idris Elba Set to Star Opposite Matt Damon in Will Packer Production

British
heartthrob Idris Elba ("This Christmas") has joined the Screen Gems
thriller, "Bone Deep" opposite Matt Damon ("Bourne Ultimatum"). Elba
will play a crook enlisted to pull off a $20 million bank heist. The
film is executive produced by
Rainforest Films' Will Packer ("This Christmas," "Stomp the Yard").
John Luessenhop is directing from a script he co-wrote with Avery Duff,
Gabriel Casseus
and Peter Allen. Casseus will also serve as an executive producer for
the film. The project is being overseen by Screen Gems president Clint
Culpepper and senior vice president of production Scott Strauss. Next up for Elba is his recently announced role in Furquaan Clover's
upcoming Juice Crew biopic, "The Vapors," opposite Cube Gooding Jr. He is currently in
theaters with both "This Christmas" and "American Gangster." He will
next be seen in the Screen Gems remake of the slasher movie "Prom
Night."
